Over 400 participants from more than 60 countries are attending the event, which aims to explore the latest developments in community-based adaptation financing, planning and best practices.
The fourth day saw a session on "Moving the agenda forward" for CBA, which saw IIED senior fellow Saleemul Huq announce that CBA9 would be held in Kenya, precede the closing ceremony.
This featured IIED director Camilla Toulmin, special guest Christiana Figueres, the executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and Prakash Man Singh, deputy prime minister of the Nepal government. The conference concluded with the Kathmandu Declaration, which saw delegates release a declaration that calls for a radical shift in flows of finance to ensure the most vulnerable communities can adapt to climate change. Read the full declaration and recommendations.
A detailed round-up of the final day of the conference, including questions and views expressed by delegates, photos, videos of the conference activities and more, is available in the Storify format, or you can scroll through below.
